What a 150 g protein day actually looks like
Here is one, from a meal plan Mealbird’s engine built for a 150 g protein target: veggie scrambled eggs & toast for breakfast, a chicken, rice & broccoli bowl for lunch and a chicken thigh & pepper stir-fry with rice for dinner. It comes to 154.5 g of protein and 1,855 kcal. The 500 g of raw chicken across lunch and dinner carries 101 g of that protein, about 65%. Every amount is below in grams, with what it adds.
The plan was made for a test profile, not a person: losing fat on 1,900 kcal a day with a 150 g protein floor, and a milk allergy, which is why there is no yogurt or cheese. Amounts are as you buy them: raw meat, dry rice. Every protein and calorie figure is recomputed from the USDA values in the app’s ingredient table, the same arithmetic the app runs, rather than copied from the plan.

The day in total
Each meal is its ingredients added up and rounded to a tenth, then the three meals are added, which is the order the app’s own check works in. Each line above is rounded on its own, so a meal can sit a tenth of a gram off the sum of its printed lines.

Why every day has to clear 150 g, not the week on average
A weekly average can hide a bad day. Seven days that average 150 g can include a day at 120 g balanced by one at 180 g, and the average still reads as a hit. So the app checks each day on its own, and a day only passes when it lands in its band.
For protein the band is a floor: the target, up to 12 g over it, never under. For calories on a cut it is the target and up to 5% below it; building muscle it is the target and up to 5% above, and holding steady 5% either way. For this profile that means 150–162 g of protein and 1,805–1,900 kcal, every day. All seven days in the table above are inside both.
The 150 g itself has to come from somewhere. How to set your protein target walks through the formula, and the protein calculator runs it on your height, weight and activity. For why chicken and egg whites do so much of the work here, see high-protein foods ranked by protein per 100 calories.
